Haynes manual - Mini Restoration
Another book that is full of valuable information, but needs to be taken at face value, as it also concentrates on the UK-built Minis.
The author provides a wealth of information on repairing bodywork and mechanical components.
But beware, many of the sections specifically geared toward accurate identification or repairs to parts, are not applicable to Australian Minis.
However, if you are restoring a Mini, and need a guide to correct methods and some short-cut tips, then this book is well worth adding to your library.
Like all Haynes workshop publications, each section is illustrated with loads of photos. Quality of some of the photos is not great, but, let’s face it, this is not an art book, and clarity of explanation is all that is important here.
Sections of particular interest are; bodywork, interior, mechanical and electrical. The modifications section is best left to other books specific to the subject.
For anyone starting out on Mini restoration, this is a valuable tool to include in your workshop.
